First Test
Since I have a high quality vacuum pump that has been sitting idle I thought I'd do some experiments with using it for vacuum tranferring in the brewing. My first experiment didn't work. I tried using 2 plastic water bottles. The vacuum was too much for the bottle and colapsed the receiving bottle. I switched it out for a glass carboy and got about 4 gallons transferred in around 3 minutes. Following is a picture of the setup I used. Further testing is necessary, but it appears vacuum transferring of wort and beer may be a practical thing
