Milehightrader's Short Biography

I've been around this world for 65+ years, and this is my third venture into wine making and brewing. My first was in the late 60s and early 70s, the second in the late 70s and early 80s. Needless to say, when I decided to get back into home brewing I was impressed with the changes in amount and quality of available ingredients, excellent literature, online forums, and equipment. I find it facinating that there is so much available that allow a person to have a miniaturized version of a real brewery. Ah, if I only had the money and the space!

I live in Denver, CO with my son and daughter in law due to financial disaster because of some poor investment decisions and medical problems in 1999, and a divorce in 2001. I currently survive with Social Security and a small pension. In August of 2005 my son got inspired to make some wine, and I soon followed. My first were 3 gallons of Oregon Blackberry, 1 gallon each of spiced apple and blueberry. Soon we decided to get back into brewing.

I'm one to do lots of reading and research, so at the time of this writing I feel I'm reasonably knowledgeable in the current methods of wine making and brewing, however each day I learn something new. I have found the Northern Brewer and Home Brewing Channel Forums to be fantastic resources for information exchange.

I'm also a tinkerer, and like to build and modify things, so home brewing offers the opportunity to do some of that. My participation on the NB Forum is what inspired me to set up this site. Plus I have my own domain, with lots of disk space, so I thought it would be nice to have project photos and information online to link to in posts. Technology is another facination of mine.

The site has started quite simple, and will evolve over time. I hope visitors find it useful. Any comments or suggestion can be sent via PM to milehightrader on the Northern Brewer oe Home Brewing Channel Forums. Thanks for stopping by.
